CIBC Run For The Cure 5km with Team Betty Montreal recap

On October 6th 2013, I did my first CIBC Run for The Cure for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. I was part of Team Betty Montreal and raised an amount 570$ for the Foundation.

Team Betty has chapters everywhere around the globe. These teams were started after Danny Wood of the New Kids On The Block started the Remember Betty foundation after his mother’s passing from breast cancer. Us fans wanted to join in the fight so we started teams around the world.

The race was in Parc Maisonneuve in front of the Olympic Stadium in Montreal. Lots of people showed up. Some were running the 5k but most of them were walking it. Since my team was walking it, I did too. BUT I won’t walk it next year. Families were walking it and 3 years old children too. They were fussing which created some major slow downs for around a thousand persons.

Overall, it is a great event with a profound meaning to everyone doing it. Only glitch, I’d like to get a tech shirt instead of a cotton t-shirt.

until then, Faith, trust and pixie dust!
